Review by hotel critic
Review of the Palace HotelDuring my recent stay at the Palace Hotel in August, I encountered a blend of circumstance that makes it worthwhile to reflect upon both luxury and value. Opting for their Luxury Suite with Sauna, I found the room expansive, featuring a separate lounge, bedroom, and modern spa-like fittings. The grandeur was overshadowed by seemingly neglected service standards. Housekeeping was inconsistent; my room went uncleaned for two consecutive days, prompting me to reach out only when necessities ran low. Breakfast, despite offering a range of English, European, and Ukrainian options, lacked quality and availability. On occasion, staff appeared preoccupied elsewhere. The wi-fi service was patchy during my stay, and repeated attempts to address this proved fruitless. While central in location, the overall décor revealed age and wear, leaving much to be desired. Although it presents itself as a luxurious option, discerning travelers might consider the cost relative to similar establishments that uphold service and quality uniformly. In summary, if you prioritize a sizable room over consistent service, the Palace Hotel may serve your needs, but be prepared to manage your expectations regarding luxury for the price.
